The "Broke, College-Kid Meal" Recipe

When I was a kid we ate this a lot. Mostly because we loved it. My mom used to tell me, "remember this recipe. You'll eat it a lot when you're broke or in college." And the "Broke, College-Kid Meal" was born.
And I'm sure it doesn't look appetizing, but trust me. It's fantastic.

What You'll Need:
Hot Dogs
Dill Pickles
Shredded Cheese
Instant Potatoes

How to do it:
1. Take your hotdogs and place them on a baking sheet. Using a knife slice halfway down the hotdog long-ways. Take a dill pickle and cram it into the hot dog (if the instructions make no sense, check the photo below). Sprinkle with cheese and set the oven to Broil. Cook until cheese is not only melted but browned.
2. In a pot on the stove prepare your instant mashed potatoes. Once finished, place them on a plate (sprinkle with more cheese if you want), then when your hot dogs are finished cooking, place them on top of the mashed potatoes.

This recipe works great for our family. It was a perfect pregnancy meal, broke newlywed meal, busy-college-kid meal, and best yet, toddler meal. Hopefully your family will love it too!
Serve and enjoy!

    1. Its a strange recipe! I won't deny it, but I grew up on it and just love it, and so does my picky eater husband and baby. It was also one of the few things I could eat while I was pregnant! Give it a shot, but you've GOT to tell me how you guys liked it!

      Have a great weekend!
