Over the weekend we celebrated my Oma's 80th birthday. When we asked her what she wanted to do, she said she wanted to have a nice night with the family, so we took her down to City Creek for some window-shopping (she hates actually buying things) and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
Bubba and I had never been to City Creek. It is SO beautiful! There are lots of stairs, and so thankfully Bubba and my dad were willing to carry the stroller up them (see above photo)!
It is called City Creek center because it is a real creek that runs through the city. Its actual canyon water running through it, and if you look carefully- you'll see trout! We sure did!
We took little man into the Disney store, where he fell in love with Tigger. Omie and Opa bought him one, and he loved on it all night, snuggling with it, eating it, and playing with it. He's got a new friend.
The guy who made the fountain at City Creek also did the fountain at the Bellagio. Fun fact!
Such lovely views of Downtown SLC!
No matter where you looked, it was beautiful. And for a Saturday - with busy choir concerts all around, it wasn't very busy at all. It was lovely.
It took three people to get the tired little man to smile like that, and after so many tries Bubba and I were laughing like little kids too.
The fountain even shot fire out of it! How cool is that?
On the way back to the car we ran into this guy. We made a deal that my brother and I could snap photos of his sign if we gave him a few bucks. Well worth it in my opinion - he was a riot to talk to!
oh my gosh. THat sign. too funny! I love city creek! Its an expensive mall but it is a fun one to window shop at!

It really is expensive! My brother wandered into the Porsche store to just look and about passed out at the sight of a $20,000 jacket. He told the cashier they were ripping people off and that he could get better quality at a farming store for less than $100!
ReplyDeleteHowever, the women folk who went loved all the sparkly stuff to look at! Tiffanys?! Swarvosky!? Um, yes!
